My husband has another Norelco and liked it but this upgrade made him happy. Parts fit both so he has 2 now...one to travel with if need be.

This unit has performed as advertised. Very little hair to clean up (might be poor technique on my part); keeps its charge, very efficient.

Have been using the T980 for about a month and it works very well. This is my second beard trimmer in about 10 years and don't often grow a beard so I'm not an expert but do think the T980 works fine to very well. The only complaint I can think of is that I'd prefer finer granularity between settings, meaning I'd like to be able to trim at number 3 and 1/2 (3 is a bit too short for my linking, 4 a bit too long). It's minor; I'm getting used to #3. Battery life seems fine, haven't needed to charge it since the initial charging.

This is my second Norelco trimmer, the first was before Philips acquired Norelco. The T980 is an improvement. The vacuum feature saves a lot of cleaning up time, and I am free of the irritations caused sometimes by a single hair. The settings need a bit of study, not the same as my earlier model. I have already paid for the trimmer, because with the vacuum feature, I can shave my head easily myself, saving $19:00 per head-shave. I don't understand or use the turbo feature. Everything moves faster, unnecessary in my view, and it is very noisy. Here's to a quieter world. The trimmer is rechargeable. I don't know whether it will be possible to replace the battery.

This is the best beard trimmer I've ever had. The trimmer guide has 9 very precise trimming length settings - I found a 5 setting perfect for a medium length beard. The vacuum works great and catches all the loose hair during the trimming process. It also has an attachment for more precise areas such as the mustache area. It is a very comfortable size to hold as well and easy to use. I took it on a couple trips and it is lightweight and the battery lasts forever. I got 5 trims before charging and I think I could have gotten at least one more. Overall a great product especially for the money.
